Stephanie Johnson has been associated with Gilbert & Sackman since March, 2009. Before joining the firm, Stephanie worked as an associate at Whatley Drake & Kallas in Birmingham, Alabama, where she handled labor and employment matters, and represented plaintiffs in class action litigation. Stephanie is admitted to practice in Tennessee and Alabama.
While attending law school at the University of Tennessee, Stephanie was named a McKnight Memorial Labor Law Scholar for demonstrated advocacy in the labor movement, a Marion Griffin Women’s Advocacy Scholar for demonstrated advocacy in the women’s movement, and received a Frank Benson Creekmore Public Service Award for her commitment to public service. Following her 2004 graduation, Stephanie served as a judicial clerk for Judge William J. Haynes, Jr., United States District Judge for the Middle District of Tennessee.
Stephanie attended college at the University of Pittsburgh, where she graduated cum laude with a degree in History, focusing on the rise of European Fascism and World War II. After graduation she traveled to Calcutta, India where she worked with Mother Theresa’s Missionaries of Charity and Bengal Rural Welfare Services.
